For more information about the HispanicScholarship Fund, please visit Role Description The Grants Compliance manager holds the primary responsibilityfor successfully executing all grants throughout their lifecycles,according to, and in compliance with all relevant HSF and donorrequirements. This individual reports to the Chief MarketingOfficer. The successful performance in this role will depend oneffective written and oral communication with internal HSFdepartments and external donors. The position requires tracking ofall grant requirements, informing HSF management when there is arisk of not meeting grant requirements, and creating reports thatmeet all grant reporting deadlines. Job RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesMonitor the complete life cycle of grantsManage the data maintenance for all grants, ensuring theaccurate description of grant intentions and restrictions (programand scholarship), pledge payment schedules, etc.Review new funding proposals to ensure they are adequatelyreviewed by all appropriate internal parties, are operationallyfeasible, and are consistent with agreed-upon organizational,financial, and timeline guidelinesReview and verify all grant summary descriptions forcorrectness and consistency with the approved/signed grantagreementPeriodicControl, prepare and manage the generation of all periodic andfinal donor reports, including the design of reports; ensuring thatthey are presented to donors on a timely basisOn a periodic basis, help project managers understandthe financial, timeline, and delivery status of all theirprogramsMake monthly recommendations to accounting for the release oftemporarily restricted funds, once deliverables have been metOn a quarterly basis, review all grants with open balances andreport on the status to ensure timely completion and accounting forsuch grantsCollaborativeCommunicate with Accounting, Development, Program andScholarship Departments, to control and manage the timely executionof all deliverables (reports, acknowledgements, etc.) for allgrantsWork with Scholarship and Program departments to ensure thetimely use and spending of open grant fundsAdditionalPeriodic generation of status reports on all open grants forHSF's leadership team and othersInput all grant agreements into Salesforce, including theproposal, fund usage, and installmentsCreate all grant narrative reports in a timely manner, obtainnecessary approvals, and communicate to the appropriate staff forexecution of narratives.Create all acknowledgement letters to donorsPerform additional responsibilities as requiredQualificationsEducation/ExperienceBachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting from an accrediteduniversity4 years of experience working in an administrative capacityrelated to funding from governmental, state, county, non-profit,and/or city funding agents or grantsCritical AttributesMust be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and possess the abilityto execute with minimal directionMeticulous attention to detail, with an overall passion forcontinuous improvementInnovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approachto problem solvingCredible and articulateExperience as a cross-functional team memberFit With ProfessionalEnvironmentEnthusiastic about the value of teamwork and collaborationAbility to prioritize, handles multiple tasks/projects, jugglechanging deadlines, provide structure to team, and meet tightdeadlines.Ability to solve multiple problems at the same timeAbility to work in a start-up type of environment, whereinformation is not always structured and/or routinelyavailableAbility to interact professionally with a diverse group offellow team members at all levels, executives, managers, andsubject matter experts, in a small team environmentProfessional SkillsExcellent analytical skillsEffective and excellent communication: written, verbal, andinterpersonal, including presentation skillsStrong technical accounting skills requiredOutstanding organization skills and strong listeningskillsAble to maintain confidentiality of work-related informationand materialsStrong proficiency in Excel, including knowledge of pivottables and other financial functionsProficient in industry standard websites development IDE's,applications, and softwareStrong proficiency in Salesforce and MIPAdditional RequirementsMust be flexible and available to attend meetings,presentations, and events outside the office as requiredFlexible to work weekends and/or extended work days, asrequiredOther Criteria The physical demands described here are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job.
